Our History
Kim Chapman qualified as an Advanced Teacher over 25 years ago after retiring from competitive swimming. In November 2002 Kim received an award from the A.S.A. for Swimming Teacher of the Year.
The swimming school was started in April 1996, with approximately 100 client’s and has now over 1000 client’s participating in the lesson programme each week.
In 2004 the swimming school achieved Aquamark Premier Status. Aquamark is a quality standard developed and assessed by the Amateur Swimming Association, the National Governing Body for Swimming in England. Aquamark represents recognition of high quality in swimming programme provision.
In March 2010 the swimming school was awarded with Swim21 Learn to Swim and Swim21 School Swimming acciditation. We were the first swimming school in the country to achive this award. Like Aqaumark, Swim21 represents a high standard of teaching in learn to swim and now includes school swimming programs.
The assessment process for these awards is very similar to an offsted inspection in schools, and the assessors scruitinise every aspect of the program, from our lessons plans to our office procedures.
