Our History
After qualifying as a swimming teacher Kim taught for many years at swimming clubs and then at Basingstoke Sports Centre.
In 1996 Queen Mary’s College pool became available to hire to private clients and Kim had always had a dream to start her own swimming school, so she took the decision to hire the pool at QMC and that’s when the swim school was born in April 1996.
Twenty-Eight years later and with some of the original team who joined Kim we are still going strong.
Our Teachers
All of our teachers are qualified either by Swim England or STA qualifications. All staff are DBS checked and attend regular safeguarding courses.
Swim Shop
We sell soft cloth hats with a variety of colours and a selection of Speedo Goggles.
You will be able to see what is available when you visit.
Awards & Certificates
All children no matter at what level will be assessed for badges/certificates which will be available for you to purchase.
At the end of each term our teaching team select a child who they would like to offer a special Achiever Award for various reasons and Kim presents these at the last lesson of term. The child is given a trophy to keep recognising their achievements.
Special Needs
We are a special needs friendly swimming school. If you child does have additional needs, it is very important that we know ahead of joining the swim school in order for us to ensure they are placed in the right class.
Health
It is also very important to be informed of any health issues, such as hard of hearing, sight problems, Asthma, Epilepsy, Diabetes etc.
We teach week days, after school and at weekends at QM Sports Centre Basingstoke.
We provide quality lessons for swimmers from pre-school age as well as improver lessons and fitness sessions.
